If you've ever seen a "lost-at-sea" film, then chances are you can trick your friends into thinking you're a psychic and spoil this film before watching it.

Telling the true story of a daring coast guard rescue in the early '50s, we see a dual point of view of the event from the rescuers and those lost at sea. Chris Pine, as coast guard Bernie Webber, is presented as a self-conscious individual who is unaware of his good looks or even how to talk to a girl. Be it that it is a true story, that midyear been believable...if Webber wasn't played by Pine.

From being proposed to, frighteningly asking permission for marriage, to even being pushed around by his own colleagues, we get a clear set up for his "underdog" story as the film progresses. And seeing that it's a Disney film, we know the outcome.

Aside from the Nichola Spark-esque storyline, we are then presented to Casey Affleck, as Ray Sybert, who tries to take command of the detiorating ship and keep it afloat. Sadly, him and the other survivors get the bare minimum when it comes to character development.

By the end, if you're a family man looking for a Disney version of The Perfect Storm, then look no further.
