Netflix splashes $10+ Million on this Joel Edgerton movie | First Review @ Sundance

Train Dreams had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where Netflix acquired the movie for a price reportedly in the “high teens” of millions of dollars. Telling the story of a logger at the end of the 18th century into the beginning of the 19th century, and the work that took him away from his wife and daughter for prolonged periods of time. Train Dreams stars Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, Kerry Condon, and William H. Macy. It’s directed by Clint Bentley (Jockey) and co-written by him & Greg Kwedar (Sing Sing).
